How to Connect

 

TV Streaming:

You can stream TV on your phone, tablet, computer, or TV by way of RoKu. This gives you 80 channels and 20 hours of recording time. Here’s what you should know to get started streaming TV.

Phone:

  • Watch on your phone by downloading the Philo.edu App,  You will log in using your BearPass ID (ex. abc123) and password.

Tablet:

  • Watch on your tablet or computer using Chrome watch.philo.com  You will log in using your BearPass ID (ex. abc123) and password.

TV:

  • Watch on your TV.

    • You can use a tablet or computer and connect your TV with an HDMI cable projecting what you want to watch and using your TV as a second screen.

    • You can watch TV by way of RoKu. We recommend the RoKu Ultra, which is Ethernet capable.

    • The wireless RoKu option will work and you would connect to the network “MSU Roku” and the password is “nointernet” to join.

  • The Bookstore has RoKu devices and HDMI cords if you need them. When you set up your RoKu, we recommend using the “no credit card option” avoid any in app purchases.

  • Note – If you have feedback on the channel selection, The Residence Hall Association, student organization, decides any channel line-up changes, or email RHA@missouristate.edu with channel suggestions.

Media Streaming:

You also have free access to HBO Go and Cinemax Go.

HBO Go             

  • https://play.hbogo.com/login 
  • Select your provider (scroll towards the bottom of the list) and find Missouri State University
  • Log in with your BearPassID
  • Create your account and start watching
  • Note: If you are watching on a common area TV (lobbies/grand lounges), be sure to log out of your account.

Cinemax Go

  • http://www.maxgo.com/
  • Sign up
  • Click more under the chart of providers
  • Select your provider (scroll towards the bottom of the list) and find Missouri State University
  • Log in with your BearPassID
  • Create your account (some information may be populated) and start watching
  • Note: If you are watching on a common area TV (lobbies/grand lounges), be sure to log out of your account.
