Agriculture

This LLC, located in Wells House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year students with a declared major in the Darr College of Agriculture.

Whether you grew up on a farm or in the middle of a huge city, this LLC could be for you. This group is supported by the Darr College of Agriculture and is perfect for students who have a passion for animal science (including pre-veterinary medicine), agricultural communications, agricultural business, plant science, natural resources or wildlife conservation and management. Students will become leaders in the University and agriculture industry through social, educational and networking opportunities.

BearRacks

This LLC, located in Freudenberger House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to students who are involved in Missouri State’s Military Science or Army ROTC programs. ***Enrollment of Military Science 101 Course is required. The course is available for all majors. ***

Loyalty. Duty. Respect. Selfless service. Honor. Integrity. Personal Courage. Students will develop their leadership skills while living with others who are learning what it means to serve. Members of BearRacks will live, take classes, and serve with other student leaders involved with the Military Science department and the Bear Battalion (Missouri State University's ROTC). Join BearRacks to explore your interest in military service or a military science minor without committing to military service.

Bears Business Community

This LLC, located in Hutchens House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year students with a declared major or interest in the field of business.

This LLC is a group supported by the College of Business (COB) and is ideal for students interested in business and leadership opportunities. Students have the opportunity to participate in social and educational programs related to academics, professional development, and personal growth.

Bears for a Just Community

This LLC, located in Shannon House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is for first-year, returning, and transfer students in all majors.

Become an advocate and make a difference. Explore issues like homelessness and poverty, Access, immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, and health care. Members expand their social and moral development as individuals and as a community.

Bears for Sustainability

This LLC, located in Hammons House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is for first-year, returning, and transfer students in all majors.

Students will become environmentally responsible citizens through education and community outreach opportunities that promote sustainability. Join the green movement by committing to live sustainably and creating positive environmental change locally and globally.

Creative Minds

This LLC, located in Shannon House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is for first-year students in all majors.

A community for students who are creative and want to live with like-minded creators. Major events have included a talent showcase, “craft-ernoons,” art workshops, and opportunities to see performance and shows around Springfield.

First-Year Bears

This LLC, located in Freudenberger, Hammons, Hutchens, Wells, and Woods Houses for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year, traditional aged students in all majors.

This community is designed to enhance each student’s first year of college and help ease the transition into college life. Students on these floors receive numerous opportunities to interact with other students and to get involved on campus. In addition, students interact with faculty members in a relaxed setting outside the classroom.

Fit and Well

This LLC, located in Freudenberger House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year students in all majors.

This is an ideal community for students interested in health, wellness, sport, and fitness opportunities on campus, as well as exploring ways to adopt lifelong healthy behaviors. Students will have the opportunity to participate in activities and experiences focusing on fitness, wellness, and overall health.

Follow Your Passion

This LLC, located in Freudenberger House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year, traditional aged students in all majors (including those who are undecided or undeclared).

College is an adventure! Explore academic options at Missouri State University in a fun, creative way. Through active hands-on learning, FYP residents discover how individual passions relate to different majors and career choices.

Future Educators

This LLC, located in Shannon House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year students with a declared major in the College of Education or Secondary Education.

 

Are you passionate about teaching and sharing your passion for learning with others? This community is designed for first-year students intending to be teachers or pursue a career in the field of education. Live with other like-minded individuals, and explore all that MSU and Springfield have to offer future educators.

Future Health Care Professionals

This LLC, located in Blair House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is for first-year students with a declared major in the College of Health and Human Services or Pre-Health.

Sponsored by the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), this LLC is an ideal living community for those interested in a health care or human services profession. Students have the opportunity to live with and learn from other students who have shared interests and goals in the health care professions.

Global Community

This LLC is offered to students eligible to live in Sunvilla Tower or Monroe Apartments with an expressed interest in Sharing international cultures and language.

Students from around the world call our Global Community home.  Make lifelong friends, share your culture and learn about others, and network for your future in an increasingly globalized world.

Honors Community

This LLC, located in Scholars House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is for first-year and returning students admitted to the Honors College.

A home for intellectual engagement, with students from a variety of academic areas sharing ideas and learning together. Get connected to the Honors College through regular contact with faculty and staff members inside and outside the classroom.

STEM

This LLC, located in Wells House for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to first-year students with a declared major in the College of Natural and Applied Sciences.

Perfect for the budding scientist, mathematician, or engineer, like-minded students share in creating a community of scholars sponsored by the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS). Students participate in hands-on learning, field trips, and outreach.

Transitions Community

This LLC, located in Kentwood Hall for the 2019-2020 academic year, is offered to transfer students in all majors.

Make your Missouri STATEment through shared experiences with other transfer students. Join a community of students who are new to the university but not new to college. Learn about Missouri State and Springfield and create friendships that will last a lifetime.
