Cable TV troubleshooting

Not receiving channels:

  • Go to the TV menu and select auto-tune to search for channels.
  • Try another TV in that jack. If it works, then the original TV is the trouble. If it doesn’t work, then the jack is the trouble and a work order should be placed.
  • If the cable jack is pushed into the wall, a work order should be placed.

Poor reception:

  • Be sure the coax cable is connected correctly and tightly.
  • Try a different coax cable. Borrow a cable from another resident or ask your RA for assistance. If the cable needs to be replaced, that is your responsibility.
  • The TV may be set to look for input from an antenna. Change the settings to "cable".

Check Mediacom's website for more troubleshooting.
