Welcome from the Dean
Welcome from Dean David Hough
Educators are special people who come from all walks of life. I’m thrilled you are exploring a career in education and considering our Living-Learning Community (LLC) as a way to become involved in schools, our College, and the MSU community.
One in every eight classrooms in the State of Missouri is led by a teacher who graduated from MSU. That amounts to more than 8,000 teachers across 420 school districts. Not only are we Missouri’s largest educator preparation program, but we are also the most respected, influential, and connected College of Education when it comes to community – school partnerships. We are the leader, and you can now become a member of this elite group.
Being part of a teacher education LLC will provide special opportunities to learn about the many activities the College of Education sponsors. If you want to learn on the job, you can become an education Intern in a school for an entire year, earning course work as part of a team. Master teachers and education professors work hand in hand to help you experience classroom teaching from the beginning of the school year to the end. Study away programs can provide you with global understandings, and any of our local school-university partnerships will give you an “inside track” for employment after graduation.
And even after you graduate, we continue to support you and help advance your career. Being part of the LLC will solidify all these experiences for you. Friendships will develop, knowledge will be shared, and experiences will continue for a life-time.
Welcome to the most exciting, rewarding career on earth. Welcome to the Teacher Education LLC. Welcome to our family.
