You can usually apply for admission a year before you’ll start classes or after you have completed six semesters of high school. We encourage you to get admitted early!
Get Your Meningitis Vaccine
Missouri law requires every student residing on campus to document they have received the meningococcal vaccine within five years of enrollment, unless a signed statement of medical or religious exemption is on file with the institution’s administration. You will need to have this done to receive a housing assignment. You can fax your meningitis records to 417-836-4133 and you can check your meningitis status by logging into my.missouristate.edu. More information can be found on the Taylor Health and Wellness webpage.
Take a Tour of Campus or Check Out Our Web Site
Contact Admissions to get a tour of campus and our residence halls. You can also discover more about each of our residence halls on this website where you’ll find detailed room specifications for our residence halls that allow you to explore all your housing options.
Complete your Housing Application
Go to my.missouristate.edu and sign in using your BearPass Login ID and password. Click on the Profile Tab and locate the Housing Channel on the right side of the page, and Complete Your Application. We pair roommates based on cell phone numbers, so if you have a roommate in mind, have their number ready when you apply. If you don’t have a roommate in mind, we can match you based on how you answer the roommate matching questions in your application. Decide which LLC and/or residence hall meets your needs. Then choose which meal plan and BoomerMeals package you want, keeping in mind that you can always get more.
Pay Your Deposit
Once you have paid your $100 deposit and received your meningitis vaccine, your contract will be complete. The date you complete your contract will become your priority date for housing.
Check Your E-Mail
We will e-mail your housing assignment to your Missouri State e-mail account. If you met the Early Bird deadline of December 1, you will receive your housing assignment by theh last day of February. Room assignments are e-mailed the last day of each month beginning in March.
We’ll see you during your SOAR session. Visit the Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services office in Hammons House 104 or our table at the SOAR expo if you have any questions. If you selected a living-learning community, stop by the LLC table at the SOAR expo to meet some of our staff members. We are available to help you along the way as you prepare for your transition to college.
