*Some 2-person suites are designed for wheelchair accessibility and room configurations and amenities differ. In addition, the beds in these rooms will likely need to remain bunked.

Convenience is the common term describing Hammons House. The well-equipped suites in this eight-story residence hall accommodate 584 men and women on single-gender floors. From a convenience store and dining center on the first level, to nearby laundry facilities, to computer network connections in each suite, Hammons House has everything for busy students.

Each smoke and tobacco free suite is carpeted and has one or two bedrooms, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette including refrigerator, microwave oven, sink, cabinets, and dinette set. Bedrooms have two bunkable beds, desks, desk chairs, overhead bookshelves, wardrobes, and a shared chest of drawers and underbed storage unit.

Hammons House offers study rooms, a large central laundry facility, a TV and recreation area, a fitness center, ice and vending machines, a convenience store, and Boomer's Cafe, as well as a computer lab offering the latest in hardware and software technology, including access to the Internet, word processing and spreadsheet packages, and laser printing. Students enjoy the convenience of the recently remodeled New Dining Center, which connects Hammons House to the Hutchens House. Hammons House enforces a restrictive (weekend only) visitation policy, remains open during all vacation periods and requires a meal plan of all residents.

In addition, Hammons House residents who have their own computer and Ethernet card may connect to the university's network through the network modules provided in each room. Access to the Internet and laser printing facilities are available.  More information about required specifications for computers and network cards needed to receive access to the network are on our ResNET pages.
