As one of the larger residence halls on campus, Blair-Shannon House has it all -- a great location, a cool place to eat, and suites to call home. But that's not all. Centrally located, Blair-Shannon House accommodates 729 men and women in a suite-style format with the living areas on single-gender floors. Each smoke and tobacco free suite contains a living room, private bathroom, and three double-occupancy bedrooms. The living room is furnished with sofas, arm chair, end tables, coffee table, area rug and microwave oven. Each bedroom is furnished with desks, desk chairs, overhead bookshelves, bunkable beds, closets with drawer space and overhead storage, and a refrigerator. The bathroom features a large counter with two sinks and a shower. All floors include a laundry room. One attractive feature is the Blair-Shannon dining center, located on the ground floor. This residence hall also includes ice and vending machines, music practice room, TV lounge, central kitchen facility, fitness center, grand lounge, and a computer lab offering the latest in hardware and software technology, including access to the Internet, word processing and spreadsheet packages, and laser printing. Blair-Shannon House enforces a restrictive (weekend-only) visitation policy, is closed during winter and spring breaks, and requires a meal plan of all residents. In addition, Blair-Shannon House residents who have their own computer and Ethernet card may connect to the university's network through the network modules provided in each room. Access to the Internet and laser printing facilities are available. More information about required specifications for computers and network cards needed to receive access to the network are on our ResNET pages.
