LLC Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I want to live in an LLC, how do I do this?

A: Indicate your top 5 LLC preferences on your housing application.

Q: The LLC I want is assigned to a building I do not want to live in, can I choose to live somewhere else?

A: Picking an LLC that appeals to your area of interest will give the most benefit. Your LLC assignment will be visible on your My Missouri State account after you have been assigned a room space. If you want to make changes, you may do so at that time by calling our office at 417-836-3234.

Q: If my desired roommate does not have the same major I have, can we be on an LLC together?

A: Yes! Many of our LLCs are open to all majors! Check out the following LLCs for all majors: Bears for Just Community, Bears for Sustainability, Creative Minds, Global Community, First-Year Bears, Fit and Well, Follow Your Passion, and Transitions.

Q: Are there fees associated with living on a LLC floor?

A: There are no additional fees associated with living in an LLC

Q: What if I do not have a roommate?

A: That’s okay! You will be assigned a roommate using the roommate matching questions you answered on your housing contract. By living in an LLC, you are giving yourself an added layer of connection with your new roommate(s) because you are going to be paired with someone who has similar interests.

Q: Can I be involved in other student organizations in addition being a part of the LLC?

A: Yes, we encourage you to be involved in social or academic organizations. We will even help you find the organization for you if you are struggling to find the right fit. It is our goal to connect students to the campus community.

Q: What are the expectations for students living on a LLC floor?

A: As a member of the LLC you are expected to engage in the floor community and activities. You should also maintain at least a 2.0 Missouri State GPA.

Q: Is it a guarantee to get into the LLC I want?

A: Space is available on a first-come first-serve basis. If you complete your housing contract by March 1, you will secure your housing priority date. This will give you a better chance to secure your desired community. We do keep a waiting list for all LLC floors; if space is available, we will move you as space is available.

Q:  Who can I talk to with additional questions?
