Woods House, a 10-story residence hall, provides 376 men and women with single-gender floors. The facility’s highlights include the friendly environment and the 10th floor common area. The combination of fun people and a location to gather bond the residents into their own small community.
The double-occupancy room plan includes a sink unique to Woods House, and the floors are tiled. A community bath is located on each floor with ample individual stalls and showers.
Woods House enforces a visitation policy with fewer restrictions on the weekends, is closed during winter and spring breaks, and requires all residents to have a meal plan and Boomer Meals.
Special features
A special feature of Woods House is its 10th floor common area, which offers a beautiful view of campus and the surrounding Springfield community. This common area provides a TV lounge, central kitchen facility, laundry room, ice and vending machines, music practice room, study lounge and recreation area.
A grand lounge and computer lab, offering the latest in hardware and software technology, including Internet access, word processing and spreadsheet packages, and laser printing, can be found on the first floor. In addition, Woods House residents may connect to the University’s network through the data ports located in each room or take advantage of the wireless hot spots throughout the building.
