As a companion hall to Hammons House, this eight-story residence hall offers housing accommodations for 576 men and women on six single-gender floors. One coed upper classman student floor is available in Hutchens House.
Each two- and four-person suite has laminate flooring and has one or two bedrooms, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette. Hutchens House maintains a visitation policy on all single-gender floors with fewer restrictions on the weekends and a more liberal visitation policy on the upper-class floor. This hall remains open during all vacation periods and requires all residents to have a meal plan and BoomerMeals.
Hutchens House offers an aerobics workout room, music practice rooms, a central laundry facility, a TV lounge, ice and vending machines, a recreation area and the Garst Dining Center, which connects Hutchens House to Hammons House. There is also a computer lab offering the latest in hardware and software technology, including Internet access, word processing and spreadsheet packages, and laser printing.
In addition, Hutchens House residents may connect to the University's network through the data ports provided in each room. Wireless access is available throughout the building and the Garst Dining Center.
