The Living-Learning Communities (LLC) will begin its third academic year this fall with new and exciting developments underway. For the 2009-2010 year, there will be the addition of LLC floors for Health and Human Services majors, Sophomore students, and the new peer leader position called a Residential Programming Assistant (RPA).We are looking for motivated Residential Programming Assistants (RPAs) who are interested in strengthening and carrying out the programmatic aspect of the LLC. The RPAs will work closely with the Resident Assistant and Faculty Fellows to ensure a strong community environment on the LLC floors. There will be eight (four female, three male, and one coed) LLC floors housed in Blair-Shannon, Freudenberger, Wells, and Woods. Emphasis will be on the success of first-year and second-year students.
In addition to the general expectations of Residential Programming Assistants, LLC RPAs will be expected to fulfill the following:
- One/month with (LLC) Coordinator
- Two/month with all LLC RPAs
- One/semester with HD and/or AHD(s), and faculty members (for planning)
Residential Programming Assistants will receive a room as per scholarship agreement; local phone service, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a computer are provided during the period of employment. Residential Programming Assistants must sign a housing contract and pay the required security deposit, and assume responsibility for all long-distance telephone bills. Residence hall room will be private as space allows and within a shared suite if applicable. RPAs will be responsible for their own meal plan.
